Accessibility

The National Trust strives to make its products and services, including its website, accessible for all users. This includes people with disabilities. The website complies with the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) up to level AA.

A number of accessibility features have been implemented to help you use our website. These elements aim to improve navigation for screen readers, keyboard navigation and text-only browsers.

Text size

Text size can be increased or decreased in size by selecting the View option in your browser.

Cascading style sheets

The site uses cascading style sheets (CSS) to control page layout and styling.

Images

Images that convey important information have alternative text. Where an image is used for a decorative purpose the empty alt attribute (alt="") is used.

Pop-up windows

Our website does not use pop-up windows.

Forms

Forms are clearly labelled to help readers to understand the content on a page and to fill in content into correct fields.

Tables

The websites tables are clearly tagged. They do not use structural mark-up for visual purposes.

Sitemap

A site map is available to provide information about the layout of the website.

Navigation

Navigation links are consistent between pages throughout the site. The site is also fully accessible using only the keyboard.
