Maurica Lavery is Marketing and Communications Manager with The National Trust. Maurica has worked with the conservation charity for 6 years.

"Working with The National Trust is amazing. Our properties, places and spaces are spectacular, but then again I would say that. So many people visit our properties and take photos. The idea behind this competition is for people to show off their National Trust, what our properties mean to them. As wonderful as it is to have all of these places, they only become special because of the people.

I love good creative photography, and I will be looking for images that really capture what the National Trust really means to them. I am really excited by the potential for great images that this competition will bring. Join in."

Chris Hill

Chris undertook his first commission for The National Trust as an amateur in 1976, and over the next 32 years has completed many projects both inside and outside the properties.

"My favourite house is Castle Coole, favourite gardens Mount Stewart, but to me the most beautiful place in the world is The Giant's Causeway which never fails to provide different vistas. Landscape photography has long been a passion of mine and I have been privileged to work and supply images to The National Trust, as well as Tourism Ireland and the Norther Ireland Tourist Board.

A great photograph is a mixture of light, composition and content. These are the things you should look for when picking a photograph to submit to The National Trust competition."

Chris has spent the past 3 years exploring Ireland to produce a series of 5 coffee table books called Scenic Ireland. The first of these, "The Province of Ulster" will be published in November 2008, with Leinster, Munster and Connaught plus a 410 page book on all 4 provinces being published in February 2009. Chris's photo library, www.scenicireland.com, contains over 13,000 images and supplies pictures to publishers all over the world.

Stephen Moore

Stephen is Director of Creative Services at AV Browne, one of Northern Ireland's leading communications agencies. His responsibilities include the management of a team 30 creatives from art directors to designers to finished artists and the steering of brands such as The National Trust, Northern Ireland Tourist Board, BT, Knutty Krust, Hasting Hotels and The Zoo.

"I'm delighted to be judging this photographic competition and from my perspective I'm looking for images that capture a moment. Images that feel real and that make you want to know more about the people or places that are featured."
